Roscommon Come and spend the day with us for a truly hands-on and creative experience — crafting your very own willow backpack! In this 5-hour workshop, you'll learn the art of traditional basket weaving using natural willow to complete a one-of-a-kind, fully functional backpack. Whether you’re completely new to weaving or have dabbled before, this workshop is designed for all levels — no previous experience needed. We’ll guide you step-by-step and provide all the materials, tools, and support you need. By the end of the day, you'll leave with a beautiful backpack made entirely by your own hands — something both useful and full of character, that you’ll treasure for years to come. What to Expect: Learn the basics of basket weaving with willow Meet like-minded creatives in a relaxed, supportive setting Enjoy tea, coffee, and biscuits on us (feel free to bring a packed lunch!) Take home your finished willow backpack A Few Things to Note: Our workshop space is rustic, so please dress for the weather — layers and sturdy footwear are best. It can get a little chilly! Also, be aware that we use a compost loo. Basket weaving can be surprisingly tough on the hands — a good excuse to treat yourself to a soak and a cuppa afterwards. To secure your place, a €30 deposit is required (non-refundable/non-transferable unless previously arranged with Kate or Alan). The remaining €70 is payable on the day. Spaces are limited and tend to fill quickly, so book early to avoid disappointment. We can’t wait to welcome you and share the joy of working with willow — see you there!
